The Las Brisas farm is managed by Lisandro Cárdenas Castro, a dedicated producer whose work reflects a deep commitment to precision agriculture and achieving exceptional quality in the cup. Over the years, he has transformed the farm into a benchmark for high-altitude Gesha cultivation in Huila, combining traditional knowledge with rigorous processing standards. His attention to selective harvesting, controlled natural fermentation, and careful drying allows Las Brisas to consistently produce coffees with remarkable clarity and distinctive aromatic depth. Lisandro’s vision and craftsmanship are reflected in every lot, making his Gesha offerings among the most expressive and highly regarded in the region.
Located in southwestern Colombia, the Huila region lies between the Central and Eastern Andes mountain ranges, with the area in between known as the Magdalena Valley. Significant differences in altitude make Huila one of the country’s most diverse and complex coffee-growing regions. The terroir, climate, and harvest cycles all contribute to the remarkable quality of the coffee cultivated here.
However, the most impressive characteristic of Huila coffees remains the people who produce them. Although Huila accounts for nearly 20% of Colombia’s total coffee production, 80% of its farmers work on farms smaller than three hectares, carrying on the tradition of specialty coffee through family efforts and meticulous farming practices.
