Honduras Los Geranios coffee is cultivated at impressive altitudes on the lush slopes of the Comayagua and Montecillos mountain ranges in Honduras. It thrives in the shade of native plants, benefiting from a natural ecosystem that enriches its flavor and quality.
Honduran coffee, especially from the Comayagua region, is renowned for its excellent quality and refined flavors. This area, located in central Honduras at an altitude of approximately 1100 meters, has a temperate climate ideal for coffee cultivation.
Arabica coffee is primarily produced here, standing out with its fine balance of acidity and diverse aromatic profile.
The harvesting process is carried out manually, allowing for the careful selection of only the ripest coffee cherries. This practice helps maintain a high standard of quality. After picking, the beans are transported to local mills for processing.
The Comayagua region is home to cooperatives and experienced producers, such as COHORSIL, which has over forty years of tradition in coffee cultivation. The coffee produced here is appreciated for its complex notes, which may include hints of chocolate, nuts, and citrus, offering a well-balanced aromatic experience.
The COHORSIL cooperative was founded in the city of Siguatepeque, located in the Comayagua department. This region lies at the very center of Honduras, at an altitude of approximately 1100 meters above sea level. Its temperate climate creates ideal conditions for coffee cultivation.
