This premium, fully washed AA lot comes from the Gicherori Washing Station, established in 1994 by the Kibugu Farmers Cooperative Society. Located in Embu County, the cooperative works closely with approximately 1,100 smallholder farmers who grow the Ruiru 11, SL28, and Batian varieties at altitudes reaching up to 1,800 meters above sea level.
The area surrounding Gicherori town is densely populated, making sustainability and minimizing environmental impact essential to their operations. Gicherori is guided by long-term goals: increasing coffee production, providing regular training for farmers, expanding access to education, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
An on-site demonstration plot serves as a hands-on learning space and a reference point for farmers to apply new techniques on their own land.
