This coffee is produced by the women of Las Flores de Luya, an association within the Cooperativa Cafetalera Laguna de los Cóndores in northern Peru. For its members, coffee farming is more than a livelihood—it is a tradition passed down through generations, cultivated with dedication and pride.

In 2004, around 80 women from the cooperative came together to establish their own association, with the goal of increasing the visibility of women in Peru's coffee sector and strengthening their role within their communities. Since then, Las Flores de Luya has continued to grow, bringing together more than 240 women producers who share a commitment to quality, sustainability, and community development.

Although closely connected to the Laguna de los Cóndores Cooperative, the association has developed its own identity, highlighting the important contribution of women to coffee production. Through collaboration, training, and shared knowledge, its members continue to improve both coffee quality and their farms.

The cooperative takes its name from "Lagoon of the Condors," a reflection of the mountainous Luya Province, where coffee is grown high in the Peruvian Andes. Local producers take great pride in their heritage, and generations of farming experience have shaped the region's reputation for producing high-quality coffees at elevated altitudes.

Beyond coffee production, the cooperative invests in projects that support its members and their communities. These initiatives include sustainable farming practices, soil improvement, reforestation programs, and food security projects that encourage organic home gardens, natural fertilizers, and improved family nutrition. Together, these efforts help strengthen both the environment and the long-term livelihoods of local coffee-growing families.
