The Story of White Tea

“Peony,” “spirit of water” and “silver needle” — the Chinese language has many poetic names for what is considered one of the most precious teas in the world.

White tea is a delicate and refined beverage, often regarded as a hidden treasure among teas.

At its heart, the production of white tea begins with the careful selection of the youngest, unopened buds and tender leaves of the tea plant. These are hand-picked and then allowed to dry naturally in the open air, with minimal additional processing.

Special mats or woven baskets are traditionally used during this gentle drying and withering process. Because the leaves undergo very little processing, they retain their distinctive appearance, including their characteristic silky, silvery-white hairs.

This delicate method preserves the tea's natural essence, resulting in a lightly floral flavor with gentle sweet and fruity notes — reminiscent of a soft spring breeze.

A Tea of Purity and Elegance

White tea is appreciated not only for its delicate flavor but also for its naturally occurring antioxidants. In Chinese culture, white tea is often associated with purity, balance and harmony, making it an ideal choice for quiet moments of relaxation and reflection.
