About the Farm
Founded in 1924, Bejofo Estate is one of the two historic cocoa plantations in Madagascar. Since 2000, the farm has helped put Madagascar on the fine cocoa map, supplying many of the world’s leading chocolate producers.
About the Partnership
With support from USAID and Tsiro, Akesson’s Farm provides a safe and supportive environment for local communities. Among its initiatives, the farm has converted the entire estate to solar energy, provided land for employees to support self-sufficiency, contributed to the construction of schools, and helped address local healthcare challenges by supplying and distributing medicines.
