About the Farm
In the middle of the arid desert of the Piura Valley, dedicated farmers harness Andean waterways to keep their unexpected plantations thriving, even during the hottest days. These small-scale farmers have organized themselves into cooperatives and use diverse agroforestry systems to maximize their harvests, cultivating cocoa alongside mango, citrus fruits, and rice.
About Our Partnership
Together with Original Beans, we pay conservation premiums to support the genetic preservation of this ultra-rare Piura cocoa variety. Through strong genetic identification, the establishment of new trees in cocoa nurseries, and continuous management training, we help ensure that this unique variety can be enjoyed for generations to come.
